Pantone’s Colour of the Year: ‘Greenery’

You may (or may not) be aware of this ritual of Pantone (the global colour authority) announcing a colour of the year. That colour is then seen everywhere from fashion to interiors to food. 2016’s colours, ‘Rose Quartz’ and ‘Serenity’ engulfed the world (and me; see here) with a unique hue of pastel pink and blue. You can check out the Pantone Serenity and Rose Quartz blog post too!
For 2017, Pantone had announced ‘Greenery’, symbolic of new beginnings, as the colour for this year and I can definitely see how its going to seamlessly incorporate itself in our world. Greenery is a yellow-green shade reminiscent of nature, from which we as modern individual have increasingly removed ourselves from. It is also a portrayal of personal passional and vitality which is why it really struck a chord with me!
Tea cups, appliances, curtains, coats, nail polish, shoes, handbags, feature walls and phone covers are just some of the places that I can envision this colour. I’ve added a few examples below of how Greenery has already started its cultural domination and when you go shopping next, you’ll know which colour to add to your wardrobe!
